Workflow Overview

Image-to-3D automates the conversion of 2D images into 3D models, integrating AI and web services. Users upload an image, and the workflow generates a .glb file, providing a download link upon completion. This efficient process saves time and enhances creativity by transforming images into interactive 3D representations.

This workflow is ideal for:

  • E-commerce Businesses: Those looking to enhance their product listings with 3D models to improve customer engagement and sales.
  • Graphic Designers: Professionals who need a streamlined process to convert 2D images into 3D models for their projects.
  • Developers: Individuals or teams who require an automated solution to integrate 3D modeling into their applications or services.
  • Marketers: Teams aiming to create interactive content for marketing campaigns that utilize 3D visuals.

This workflow addresses the challenge of converting 2D images into 3D models efficiently. It automates the entire process, reducing the time and effort required to generate a 3D representation of a product or concept, which can significantly enhance user experience and product visualization in various applications.

  1. Trigger: The workflow can be initiated either manually by clicking 'Test workflow' or automatically based on a schedule (e.g., every 5 minutes).
  2. Get New Image: It retrieves a new image from a designated Google Sheet, specifically looking for entries without a 3D RESULT.
  3. Set Data: The image data is prepared for processing.
  4. Create 3D Image: A request is sent to the Fal.run API to generate a 3D model from the provided image URL.
  5. Wait: The workflow pauses for 60 seconds to allow the API to process the request.
  6. Get Status: It checks the status of the image generation request to determine if it is COMPLETED.
  7. Retrieve URL: If completed, it fetches the download URL for the generated 3D model.
  8. Get File: The actual 3D file is downloaded using the retrieved URL.
  9. Upload 3D Image: The downloaded file is uploaded to Google Drive for storage.
  10. Update Result: Finally, the workflow updates the Google Sheet with the link to the generated 3D model, ensuring the 3D RESULT column is filled.
