modified-HRSID

This is a SAR ship dataset derived from HRSID, primarily for ship detection and instance segmentation. It corrects annotation issues in the original dataset and removes large ships larger than 9,216 pixels to focus on small‑target detection.

Description

modified‑HRSID

modified‑HRSID is a SAR ship dataset adapted from HRSID (a high‑resolution SAR image dataset for ship detection and instance segmentation). The dataset fixes several annotation problems present in the original collection.

Dataset Source

The dataset originates from Wei et al. [1] who first released the high‑quality HRSID dataset, which has significantly advanced SAR image object detection and segmentation research. The original dataset can be downloaded from: https://github.com/chaozhong2010/HRSID

Modifications

  1. Annotation Corrections:
    • Removed annotations of ships truncated at image edges in near‑shore scenes (over three‑quarters of ships).
    • Utilized Google Earth to compare SAR images with high‑resolution optical imagery captured at different times, correcting certain annotations in near‑coastal environments.
  2. Target Size Adjustment:
    • To concentrate on small‑target detection, images of ships with an area exceeding 9,216 pixels were removed from the HRSID dataset.
    • Despite these adjustments, the number of images in the "all" folder remains identical to the original dataset.
